ICX Radar Systems AI-130 Type Certificate achieved, marking milestone in helicopter flight safety.
Montreal, August 21, 2003— Amphitech International Inc. announced today that Transport Canada has issued the Type Certificate for its AI-130 obstacle awareness system (OASys). The AI-130 is based on millimetre-wave radar technology that provides pilots with improved situational awareness. The system signals obstacle detection via visual indications and audio alerts, and can detect obstacles of all kinds including towers, wires, trees, buildings and terrain in various weather conditions.
