OASYS Radar achieves certification
Laval, Quebec, November 18, 2002— Amphitech International Inc. is proud to announce today the obtaining of its first ever Limited Supplemental Type Certificate (LSTC) for installation of the OASYS Radar on a Bell-212 Helicopter. Throughout the installation, flight tests and approval, ICX Radar Systems worked together with Canadian Helicopter Limited (CHL).
The OASYS radar warns flight crews of obstacles along the aircraft flight path. In weather conditions of fog, mist, rain, snow, smoke and haze; the OASYS radar will detect power lines, towers, buildings, terrain, trees and air traffic. With this capability, OASYS radar increases the flight safety of the crewmembers and passengers of the helicopter.
Following the LSTC approval, ICX Radar Systems will continue the process to get the Type Certificate (TC) by December 2002. In parallel with the Type Certificate, ICX Radar Systems will also work to get the B212/412 and AS350 Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) by the end of December 2002. The first serial production units will be ready for delivery in the first quarter of 2003.
